Do Not Be Alarmed By The Fact That Jesus Christ Knows What We Are Thinking
Good leaders and poor leaders, but spiritual leaders in particular, need to be aware of the fact that Jesus Christ knows what we are thinking. He knew the thoughts of men then and He knows the thought of men today. The Lord knows the thoughts of men and he knows that they are futile, writes the Psalmist, and singer Ian White takes these words for the refrain in one of his superb songs inspired by the Psalms.
We have been reading in Luke Chapter 11 where Jesus Christ has been casting out an evil spirit and He has had to listen to stupid unwise critical comments.
The Leader And The Professional
The Leader
When I was doing my service in the armed forces (army) I was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas with the first battalion of the 46th infantry division for awhile. Moses has led the people of Israel across the Red Sea - and God - the same God and Father of our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ - had performed that mighty and amazing miracle - rescuing and saving His people - and dealing with those who chased them seeking to enslave them again.
What A Surprise To Discover That Not Everybody Is Clamouring To Welcome And Receive Jesus Christ!
This can come as quite a surprise when we discover that not everybody is clamouring to welcome and receive Jesus Christ. Let me amplify and explain and do check out the facts as we have them in the Gospel of Luke. Leaders in particular so need to see this because this can prevent those in positions of leadership from being overly disappointed.
We are in Luke Chapter 9 and at verse 51, where Jesus Christ has resolutely and determinedly set His face to go to Jerusalem. In obedience to the Will of the Father - Jesus allows Himself to be crucified - and killed - laying down His Life - knowing this - that His Loving Faithful Father would raise Him up from the grave. No man took His Life from Him. Jesus laid it down.
